Overview of Role:
- Is to aid with the running of current projects working directly under the Project Manager liaising with Site Foreman’s and arranging deliveries and making sure projects are running on schedule.
- You will be responsible, making sure sub-contractor and supplier costings stay within budget advising the PM on any possible savings.
Long Term Development - Career Progression would be within project co-ordination and management. You will be expected to undertake Project Management courses / training, whether working closely with 1 specific Project Manager or working across multiple project manager’s – dependant on Project Make-Up.
Main Responsibilities:
The below responsibilities are high level and not limited too – but do cover most areas that you will be managing / responsible for.
1) Ordering – this will be for both miscellaneous and standard building material orders required by each PM or SF.
- Standard Builder Merchants – will include all skips and site office / welfare facilities and expected to always be negotiating best prices between suppliers.
- Online order from Screwfix, Toolstation etc.
- Orders that are urgent and needing to be picked up and dropped to sites.
2) Sub-Contractor & Suppliers
- Managing current suppliers and liaising / organising deliveries with them.
- Maintaining relationships and attending required meetings / lunches with relevant suppliers / sub-contractors we are working with and trying to introduce.
- Expected amount of new sub-contractors we can use across all projects (introducers).
- Updating relevant databases to ensure we have all necessary information on sub-contractors.
3) Site Set-Up & Demobilisation
- Once a new site is to start or an existing is finishing it will be your responsibility to liaise with the PM for the job as to what they need moved to next site, what to be taken to storage and new items for the new site.
4) In-House Health & Safety
- Carrying out site sites and audits following a specification / template of checks expected on each site and reporting back to Directors.
- Collating all completed site forms and making sure site always has a supply of spare worksheets.
5) Project Documentation:
- Save all relevant files to database.
- All up to date drawings have been uploaded to database and physical copy made and on site at all times.
- Updating and assisting with Valuations, Sub-Contractor Information, Agreements, Purchase Orders, Card Payments and Invoices.
6) Site Meetings - expected to attend site meetings with your Project Manager, note taking and following through actioning any items that fall under JPD responsibility.
Desired Qualifications:
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS Qualified
- First Aid Qualified
- Understanding of Construction Materials
- Driving License
