Doncaster MBC has developed Employment and Skills strategy which sets out a hugely ambitious agenda to 2030. This post would place a valuable role in delivery on this strategy.
The role will support the delivery of the Doncaster Special Educational Needs Employment Project, that aims to help more people with learning difficulties and autism into sustained employment.
The successful applicant will –
Work in partnership to develop and implement a strategy to increase the number of people with learning difficulties and autism in meaningful employment.
Build effective partnerships with special schools, secondary schools and colleges to support them in their development of provision to help their SEN students develop employability skills.
Provide support, coordination, and challenge to school senior leadership teams.
Proactively engage businesses to support SEN employability, including provision of work experience and supported internships / supported employment.
Identify, introduce and match businesses with to schools and colleges or employment agencies inducting and equipping them to fulfil the role to support
Coordinate regular SEN employability forum meetings working with relevant partners.
