The Role
The maritime organisation aligns all of the key elements of maritime operations together with integrated strategy, planning and operational delivery. It unifies both ship and shore as a cohesive team and ensures that the fleet is operated in a safe, reliable, efficient and compliant way. Maritime is responsible for delivering refits and projects across the cuk fleet and this role will support one or more of those projects.
The role of project manager is to lead the delivery of agreed projects within maritime. Projects that are managed by this team are often large capital expenditure projects that have significant technical elements. Projects are allocated based on project manager’s skills and experience.
The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure the project deliverables are attained on time, in adherence with protocols and within budget. The right candidate will possess effective communications skills and the expertise to shape, define and manage a comprehensive project plan. They will be courageous and decisive, effectively prioritise and see the action through to delivery.
Working collaboratively across departments to achieve success, this role requires strong influencing and relationship skills, professional organisational ability, competent and effective communication styles.
- Applies best practice and manages within CUK project governance & assurance frameworks
- Provides governance &assurance on project delivery and contributes to their review
- Uses the appropriate level of governance, assurance and expertise required to deliver effective projects.
- Clearly define, document and deliver the project objectives
- Define and plan the business scope of the project and the resources required to develop and apply them effectively
- Implement and manage agreed governance standards across the project lifecycle
- Identify and manage dependencies across the project
- Manage changes ( to scope, time and budget) within agreed tolerances and escalate risks
- Identify, track, manage, escalate and resolve risks and issues through the maintenance of the RAID register
- Define, manage and report the project budget
- Complete project reports as required via ‘Perform’, for the PMO and for CarnivalUK
Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CU07 and is offered on a full time, permanent, with at least two days based in our Southampton office.

- Degree educated or equivalent
- Prince2/Agile Practitioner
- PMBOK
- Lean Six Sig- or equivalent experience
