Our Technology Delivery Team are the centre of expertise for all strategic programme and project delivery across Technology, supporting Customer Mobile, Mobile Network & Security, and 5G & Group functions.

We are recruiting a Technical Project Manager to work in a highly complex, fast-paced environment, responsible for creating and leading an integrated team to deliver end-to-end projects. You will need to ensure that the projects have a good business benefit, are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality criteria from conception through to market launch and transition into operations.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the Organisation to shape the Projects and proactively solve conflict situations through problem-solving, negotiation, open communication, and direct influencing. This role offers an opportunity for hybrid working model (3 days in any of our Birmingham, London, and Bristol offices, and 2 days wherever you like).

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing the technical delivery of complex projects and delivering innovative products, regularly first to market.
  • Working across world-leading brands BT, EE, and PlusNet
  • Managing virtual teams of <100 and working with external partners and suppliers to deliver against business objectives.
  • E2E planning of projects, including resources, negotiating, and securing resources as required.
  • E2E ownership of the project, ensuring delivery to time, budget and quality as expected.
  • Responsible for project governance, <£5m budget management, risk, issue and change management for the entire project.
  • Providing reporting to time and standard as directed by PMO.
  • Collaborating across all design and delivery partners to produce coherent project outcomes.
  • Working across the stakeholder group whilst influencing up to the Director level.
  • Visibly owning delivery and driving engagement for the project.
Skills and experience you'll need
  • Professional experience delivering medium to large projects within a Gated Project Governance process.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership and project planning to project teams.
  • Experience communicating with stakeholders up to the Director level, driving robust, open and sustained communication channels within the project team and with the broader stakeholder community.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to shape the project and proactively solve conflict situations through problem-solving, negotiation, open communication, and direct influencing.
  • Experience in proactively forecasting and managing project costs to forecasts, both Opex and Capex.
  • Excellent track record in project delivery within a fast-paced, Technology environment in the telecoms business using a range of internal and external suppliers to deliver.
  • Good knowledge of and experience with Mobile products and services.
  • Industry recognised Project Management Qualification.
