Job description

Project Manager
Northampton

As a Barclays Project Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards. As a project lead, you’ll be managing projects supporting the business strategy from business case through to initiation, requirement analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and closure.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.
We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Delivering the project scope to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards
  • Driving the Project planning framework, ensuring that plans are developed and tracked to appropriate standards
  • Owning and driving the effective governance of the project as required
  • Defining project budgets, obtaining funding and tracking actual expenditure
  • You will be controlling the project scope as required
  • Providing effective communications and relationship building with key stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
• Exceptional track record of managing business or technical projects.
  • Excellent project mobilization / initiation / planning experience
  • Excellent Stakeholder and communication skills, at all levels, with the ability to convey information to technical and non-technical colleagues in a clear and concise way
  • Demonstrable record of managing Project budgets effectively, and delivering within budgetary constraints
Skills that will help you in the role
• A track record of successfully managing senior stakeholder relationships
  • Formal Project management qualification/accreditation (i.e. PRINCE II)
  • Experience of working on Agile/SCRUM projects
  • Experience leading medium-large teams across a range of disciplines and locations

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
