Reporting to Transformation Programme Manager
Aztec is embarking on an ambitious programme of transformation and change over the next few years following development of a new target operating model. They are building a project and change office to support the delivery of change in the business. The transformation and change portfolio includes building revenue generating opportunities including a new commercial excellence capability, building core functions to support scale, and implementing innovative technologies to create capacity and efficiency.
This role is a key member of the Programme Management Office (PMO) and reports to the Transformation Programme Manager. This role will be responsible for the project management and delivery of key change projects to scope, plan, budget, and ROI.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver high-impact, multi-jurisdictional, highly complex, business transformational projects in a fast-paced and virtual environment, from initiation through to delivery and successful transition in line with the programme delivery framework
- Maintain and assist in the development of budgets for the business cases of new projects, also providing ongoing management of the budgets within a project.
- Manage direct and indirect project resources to identify capacity constraints and identify solutions to fulfil shortfalls to ensure that projects are delivered within agreed timeframes.
- Provide progress status reports to the Steering Committees, Project Sponsors and key stakeholders on the project status, issues, risks, budgets, resource and change management plans.
- Develop project specifications, agree project plan baseline including scope, key activities, deliverables, resource requirements, milestones, deadlines, dependencies and benefits.
- Utilise project plans and schedules to monitor all activities and ensure actions are captured and followed up on to completion.
- Manage relationships amongst stakeholders by building confidence and trust with clear professional communications and assured expectation management.
- Drive project execution; track delivery; collaborate with change managers for successful change adoption and implementation; proactively seek and resolve blockers.
- Record information accurately and consistently using appropriate systems and provide and communicate timely information to relevant parties.
- Seek stakeholder insight and feed it into improved processes while ensuring compliance with governance and standards.
- Manage the project within the agreed governance structures and processes, to ensure consistency of approach and efficient use of resources.
- Conduct progress reviews to give stakeholders confidence that projects will deliver to time, budget and agreed standards.
- Conduct reviews to assess project outcomes and to identify and capture lessons learned to enable continuous improvement and benefit realisation.
- Track and monitor delivery of project benefits aligned to the benefits framework
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrable capability to manage complex transformation projects from initiation through to successful completion and benefit realisation. Using a variety of methods (Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid).
- Experience in transformational change and process improvement is preferable, ideally in a management consultancy.
- 12+ years of programme/project/change management experience in a large size company with a proven record of successful project delivery working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
- Project and Programme management qualifications are required, strong academics preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in strong people change management and benefit realisation.
- Understanding of Commercial Excellence projects, the financial services and fund industry would be advantageous.

- Delivering results remains calm, effective, and positive even when under pressure; takes ownership for delivering outcomes and is highlight pragmatic and action orientated.
- Initiative and problem solving: identifies problems, provides / facilitates the creation of options and recommendations, and uses initiative to drive solutions in a positive and constructive manner; whilst being able to identify and manages risk.
- Strong attention to detail, adheres to high quality standards, checks information quality
- Change management & adoption: ability to focus on the human side of change by building and delivering change management. Plans routes to increase adoption and the success of the acceptance of benefits
