The Project Implementation Manager post offers an initial fixed-term opportunity to lead the development of the Individual Placement and Support in Primary Care (“IPSPC”) project.

The role is pivotal to the successful implementation and delivery of the Individual Placement and Support in Primary Care (“IPSPC”) project awarded by Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) Health & Inclusive Employment Directorate. The Project Manager will manage the set up of the project, co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in the project work and will also lead detailed project planning and project controls including:

  • Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan
  • Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan
  • Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary
  • Resolving cross-functional issues at project level
  • Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary
  • Monitoring project progress and performance
  • Managing the procurement of the project partnership
  • Developing project guidance and controls in accordance with DWP regulations.
  • Developing marketing plans, engaging with stakeholders and planning/delivering the project launch.

IPSPC is a £2.7m project which provides an excellent opportunity for NCC to improve employment and health outcomes in their local area. Too often people face a negative experience of declining health which excludes them from work, often leading to long term worklessness, which in turn causes further deterioration in health. This is increasingly significant with the growth of common mental and physical health conditions post-Covid 19. This has led to increasing health-related disability and a consequent increase in worklessness. The number of working age people with health conditions who are outside the labour market has increased by over 10% over the last two years to 2.2million.

For NCC to be able to deliver the expected benefits of IPSPC, stretching but realistic job outcome targets have been identified, with a focus on maximising sustained paid employment. Emphasising sustained employment, is important to improve Return on Investment (ROI) and help to ensure a sustainable IPSPC model is developed.

This is a full time post and is on a fixed term contract until 31 August 2023.
