About the Role
Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key Scottish sites; Glasgow, Perth, Inverness.
Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSE Renewables are currently seeking to recruit a Project Environment Manager to support renewables developments from the planning stages through to construction and handover to our operations teams. Working as part of the SSE Renewables Onshore Environment Team, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Management of environmental requirements for large onshore development and construction projects, including supporting and engaging on SSER's strategic sustainability initiatives.
- Review of EIA/ER Chapters, preparation of Construction Environmental Management Plans and discharge of planning conditions relevant to the environment.
- Liaison with stakeholders, including planning authorities, regulators, environmental agencies, for all environmental aspects of the project from planning to development and through construction.
- Managing monitoring and surveying work and associated contractors / contracts, inputting to the tender process, evaluating contractor reports and RAMS, preparing and submitting compliance documentation including site environmental audits and inspections.
- Investigation of environmental hazards and incidents, ensuring prevention of further harm, resolution where possible and rolling out lessons learned to the wider business and relevant contractors.
What do I need?
This role will be hybrid, however, as it will include travel across various sites a current UK driving licence is essential.
We would also love you to bring:
- Extensive expertise in environmental management, environmental construction management and a broad knowledge of environmental legislation and policy.
- A Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA or CIEEM).
- A commercial aptitude and a broad understanding of project development / construction pressures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to comfortably deal with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- Experience of internal auditing including to the requirements of ISO 14001.
