Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a PROJECT ENGINEER for our Glasgow site, to lead the development and delivery of innovative commercial projects within floating offshore wind (FOW).
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical leadership to collaborations with industry, supply chain, academia and innovators, enabling the deployment and testing of FOW assets and strategies.
What will I do?
- Provide technical input on FOW projects related to dynamic cables, moorings, anchors, technology development, construction, O&M and supply chain
- Collaborate with project partners to deliver technical collaborative research and innovation projects
- Provide technical leadership to project teams, management and business development colleagues, on the technical aspects of floating offshore wind within offshore renewables
- Develop and present new project ideas internally and to the wider industry
- Manage the delivery of work by engineers and external consultants
- Provide subject matter leadership in FOW-related projects
- Develop, lead and provide input in industry workshops
- Collaborate with FOW technology developers and wider supply chain
- Manage and review engineering deliverables in line with project aims and quality standards
What are we looking for?
- Degree in engineering or related subject, or equivalent experience
- Good experience working in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience of offshore wind or relevant industry
- Experience in hydrodynamic analyses using OrcaFlex
- Knowledge of FOW technologies and innovations
- Awareness of key industry stakeholders
- Good knowledge and use of engineering practices and standards
- Project leadership in a technical environment
- Experience of developing project proposals, scopes and delivery plans
