Regularly working years ahead of production, they help translate, plan and implement Product Development outputs into vehicle manufacture, transforming our ambitious plans into tangible and exhilarating realities.
Your constant challenge, working as part of our diverse and multi-skilled Global Manufacturing Engineering team, will be to ensure our iconic brands continue to captivate the world tomorrow.
The GME-MI team are looking for a P6 Planner, so as to ensure the robust development of new project proposals, designs concepts and programmes from Strategic Intent with controlled maturity throughout the entire project lifecycle on our production facilities. This will be a key management, expertise and stakeholder relationship role within the business.
The role will be West Midlands based but the successful candidate will be expected to visit other UK sites and support international operations (Where required from a UK base), along with attending key meetings so as to offer support, facilitate new process and standards embedment, monitor compliance, whilst ensuring contextual feedback and learning is absorbed back into business systems.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the early stages of an integrated schedule development from SI to PA (RIBA stage 0-3) whilst providing schedule governance throughout the project lifecycle- Determining the critical path and dependency logic within projects and programmes
- Presentation of schedules within a format and style which project stakeholders can understand
- Developing and presenting works plans and logistics plans to key stakeholders
- Development of a new projects schedule development plan, which enables 4D BIM objectives and benefits to be realized
- Understanding the scope, dependencies and representing the GME within project delivery plans
- Escalating critical enablers, key milestones and dependencies to the project management and business leadership team
- Preparing accurate project and portfolio reports the GME-MI Management Board
- Leads the schedule interface with all other GME Technologies
- Ensures stakeholders and designers are aligned with the Business objectives
- Leads production of project performance data and KPI’s from benchmark data and lessons learned
- Interrogates project data and designs as required
- Incorporates the outcomes of good client initiatives
- Is responsible for the development of integrated project schedules from SI to project close and accountable for the delivery of SI to PA (RIBA stages 0-3) and monitoring thereafter throughout the project lifecycle
- Establishing and maintaining best practice in programming and project reporting
- Engaging with external schedule management professional bodies outlining the scope of deliverables and measuring performance against it
- Supporting the site strategy managers in the creation of the Manufacturing Strategy and providing the manufacturing pipeline of works by plant
- Supporting business governance events including the Manufacturing Structure Circle (MSC), Corporate Property Committee (CPC) and Non-Product Investment Committee (NPIC) so that approval is gained in line with project timing
- Attending major project reviews
- Monitoring and updating the UK and International headcount requirements
- Providing support and guidance to Project Managers on the development of new projects
- Measuring contractor tender returns and advise on construction methodology
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Qualified in the use of Primavera P6 planning software- Ability to pull together functional and cross-functional teams to achieve goals and KPI’s
- Excellent written and speaking skills as well as having the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Relevant degree qualified or equivalent experience, preferred in construction or similar industry
- Previous experience and strong background of construction works from conception through to delivery and completion.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials and skills requirements.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
