Title: Project Engineer
Location: Newport
Hours: 37.5hrs per week (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
The Role:
The Project Engineer works as part of the Consultancy team and delivers high-value professional services to customers.
Candidates are expected to be capable of working under their own initiative to design and implement IT solutions through consultative and collaborative engagement with customers and peers.
Project Engineers are expected to provide technical leadership both to customers and to internal staff, to be an evangelist for their technical specialisations and for progressive IT technologies and solutions, and to assist the Pre-Sales team in developing Statements of Work and Proposals for new and existing customer sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver chargeable and high-value professional services and engineering that provide assured outcomes for customers- Provide technical leadership and championing of technologies and solutions that deliver strategic value to customers, and that enable our client to provide an excellent customer experience
Requirements:
A thorough understanding and significant experience of the following is required:
- Network switching and routing infrastructure (particularly Cisco, HPE, and Dell; mostly LAN)
- Firewalls (WatchGuard, FortiGate, etc
Significant experience and expertise are expected in one or more of the following, with working knowledge of as many as possible being advantageous:
- Microsoft Active Directory (including Azure AD Connect)
- Microsoft / Office 365 and related services (SharePoint, OneDrive, ATP, EMS, InTune, AutoPilot etc.)
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Other Microsoft technologies and solutions: DFS, IIS, SQL, SCCM, etc
- Networking (switching, routing, firewalls, load-balancers, WAFs
- IaaS and Cloud platforms (VMware, Azure, AWS, etc)
- VDI/Remote working solutions (Horizon View, RDS XenApp/XenDesktop, etc)
- Linux Server and applications (Apache/Nginx, MySQL/Maria DB, etc)
It's expected (though not essential) that the successful candidate will hold one or more qualifications in appropriate technologies from one of the following organizations:
- Cisco
- VMware vSphere
- Azure, Microsoft / Office 365
- AWS
