The Opportunity
We’re currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our Investment Delivery Team, support the delivery of projects, including scoping and specification of work through to field supervision and handover. As the point of contact for various site-related project issues, your effective stakeholder management and relationship building will be important and you may also be required to chair and facilitate meetings for the team’s portfolio.
You’ll need a flexible approach to the role to enable your involvement in projects where and when required, whilst continuously ensuring that you do so in a safe, timely and effective manner. Willing to explore all the various opportunities of the role, you should be keen to manage an array of small projects, tasks and resources as needed.
Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069 - £71,779 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing
As Project Engineer, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the scoping and specification of projects
- Reviewing and approving contractor documents and drawings
- Performing up-front site surveys and liaising with designers
- Arranging and conducting safety audits and quality spot checks on site and at Contractor works
- Ensuring your projects comply with the Work Management and Investment Delivery processes
- Applying internal and external standards and procedures to project activities.
Who you are
You'll need to be HND/Degree educated, for which Engineering may be advantageous, or hold an equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline as well as have an appropriate level of knowledge and experience in Project Management. Experience in leading a project team would be beneficial.
You should demonstrate ability in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and proficient in the use of estimating, scheduling and risk tools. You should be familiar with HSE and CDM legislation and have experience of supervising and setting contractors/sub-contractors to work in their roles.
