What you’ll do:
The Project Engineer Oil & Gas will report to the Project delivery manager and will provide on-site leadership for all assigned O&G projects. This includes taking lead during Factory acceptance testing and 3rd party inspections, on-site technical leadership, attending customer meetings, providing input into RAMS development, managing any on-site contractors or other Aggreko technical personnel, ensuring ESR compliance on site in addition to ensuring the delivery and commissioning activity is completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Power, Load bank & Complex Offshore Applications – Lead technical specification/design required for the application. Design and build control systems
- Plan & manage 3rd party/ FAT inspections as and when required, liaising with all relevant internal and external personnel to ensure
- Carry out offshore tasks as required including , offshore install & commissioning, watchkeeping cover, breakdowns, surveys.
- Support Aggreko Service Engineers - Assistance to be provided, as and when required. Assist with Service Engineer development in selected cases
- Support QHSE regarding Offshore Safety Issues - Assist with written procedures, legislation, codes of practice and incident investigation, Assist with method statements and risk assessments for Offshore projects.
- Carry out any other duties which are reasonable and within your abilities to support other areas of the business as and when the need arises
- Strive to continuously improve service delivery and quality relating to the Aggreko power products including the following actions: Routine servicing of plant both in depot locations and offshore if required, attending onshore breakdowns and carry out repairs if required
- Allocation of plant to meet contract requirements
- Complex fault finding and repair of all power products
- Control of release and return of plant. Control of spares
- Maintain up to date knowledge of new plant and industry developments
- product development support as required
- Act as a single point of contact for the duration of the project and manage project expectations. Clearly communicate project expectations to all relevant stakeholders.
- Plan own work, in conjunction with the project leads, and effectively communicate progress versus key project milestones
- Ensure all modifications and new designs are correctly documented
- Assist and implement site design in accordance with Aggreko installation and commissioning standards
- Deliver improved product design, including modifications as per clients agreed specifications and implement document changes
- Create thorough and accurate bills of materials (BoM) and support the sales, procurement and engineering teams with any technical issues associated with the delivery of offshore projects.
- Assist Major projects team with any other duties which are reasonable and within your abilities to support other areas of the business as and when the need arises
- Adherence to the relevant quality, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, and standards
- Work with suppliers to improve quality, cost, and delivery
Who we’re looking for…
You will have a mechanical and or Electrical background preferably with technical capabilities in power and ideally temperature control. A City and Guilds/ONC level 3 qualification or equivalent is also desirable. Alternatively, if not qualified to the above, individual must have good grounding in mechanical engineering and be willing to undertake any training provided to attain these qualifications. Additionally, you will have good knowledge and experience with the installation, commission and watchkeeping of offshore equipment packages, combined with the use of third-party document control systems. Knowledge of DNV or NORSOK standards would also be desirable. You must also hold a full, clean, and valid driving license and be able to work out of hours as and when required and be part of the on- call rota. For all field roles – offshore work is required so individual must be trained or willing to be trained.
You will have excellent verbal communication skills and be able to develop internal stakeholder relationships, and work collaboratively across wider teams. You will need to be able to work under pressure to deliver tasks on time, and to a high level of quality and accuracy, with strong attention to detail.
You’ll be self-motivated, with problem solving skills, and can identify issues, propose solutions, and think beyond your day-to-day remit.
