Vestas Development is a newly established strategic business unit within Vestas that promotes new growth while supporting the existing business. The department's primary responsibilities are to originate and develop new wind and hybrid projects globally through its own resources and development partnerships established and managed by the group.
The position reports to the Vestas Development lead in the UK and Ireland region (the "Region"), and the chosen candidate(s) is offered a unique role to act as a trusted advisor and support the team in originating contracts and implementing development activities in the Region. The location is based in London, UK.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and overseeing existing and future project development agreements, including monitoring development activities, quality assurance and control, meeting local stakeholders (e.g., grid operator and environmental agencies), budget review, and following up with sub-contractors.
  • Proactively supporting country leads in creating new leads and originating development and investment opportunities in the Region, including defining the regional development strategy: markets identification; project screening and development; partnerships outline and negotiation; development planning; exit plans.
  • Overseeing internal and third-party due diligence and performing technical and financial due diligence. First-hand experience in financial modelling or project management tools (e.g. Primavera).
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and preparing Senior level presentations/documents for approval processes.
  • Showing leadership and managerial capabilities through project management skills, including handling multiple tasks simultaneously and leading complex, cross-functional, and worldwide teams.
  • Ensuring project quality, optimization, and competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Business or Engineering (i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Management) or relevant educational qualifications along with experience in Wind or PV project development experience.
  • Experience in Offtake origination, sourcing, structuring and execution; negotiating other commercial agreements required for project financing.
  • Procurement of development services, construction contracts (EPC/BOP), or experience working with Wind or PV OEM.
  • Good communication skills in English.
