Supports successful execution of Components Engineering Projects.
Performs project support and administration tasks for multiple development projects with supervision, support and guidance from a team of Project Managers
What are my responsibilities?
Support Project Managers in the successful execution of Components Engineering Projects.- Support Project Managers in delivery of several projects, from inception through to handover to business, ensuring the delivery of specified products and services within agreed time, quality, and cost parameters.
- Coordinate basic project activities, including simple administrative tasks, schedule updates, risk review updates, management of component procurement tracking and PO loads.
- To support continual improvement initiatives that improve product development’s ability to deliver projects to requirements
- Schedule regular meetings and record decisions (e.g. assigned tasks, meeting minutes and next steps)
- Assist in generating and updating project schedules
- Assist in project cost monitoring and control
- Assist in segmenting projects into doable tasks and set timeframes and goals
- Adhere to relevant processes
- Support project risk analyses
- Manage the process of component procurement and tracking
- Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders
- Order resources, such as equipment and software
- Assist in tracking expenses and predicting future costs
- Assist in monitoring project progress and addressing potential risks and issues
- Coordinate quality controls to ensure deliverables meet requirements
- Assist in measuring and reporting on project performance
- Always adhere to safety processes and guidance
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement regarding safety
What I need to be successful in this role
Experience in a Project Administration or Project Coordination role.- Working towards or holding a Level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration.
- Ideally holds APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent.
- Ideally holds APM Risk Management qualification.
- An understanding of workplace planning.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of customer operations and requirements.
- General industry awareness.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing operations and techniques.
Essential
- Basic knowledge of project risk management covering all aspect of the project life cycle.
- Basic knowledge of project management methodology, processes, tools and procedures.
- Design and deliver effective informal and formal presentations to individuals and groups.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Desirable
- Experience working with suppliers.
- Demonstrable experience of task management.
- Good knowledge of ERP systems (SAP & PEGA)
- Basic understanding of engineering processes.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft project.
- Experience of managing projects in an engineering environment
