About the Role
Accountable to Head of Satellite Programmes UK, they will be responsible for monitoring and controlling of scope, resourcing and schedule on assigned projects. Scope, resource and cost planning, monitoring, cost reporting and Earned Value Analysis will be performed using SAP and other tools, which may include Primavera P6 or MS Project. The Project Coordinator will also directly support the Programme Manager with generating and tracking action plans through to completion which includes participation and recording of key meetings and workshops.
The Project Coordinator / Project Controller shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Budgeting and managing the resource requirements on projects and programmes as assigned by Head of Programmes, including managing and developing EACs, resource planning for assigned Programmes
- Generating data/information for presentations and reports to the business and the customer(s).
- Generating Variance Analysis Reports (as required) on a monthly basis to cover variance at completion information with corrective actions. Work with the Programme Manager(s) and other stakeholders to implement the corrective actions to re-align the work to the baseline and budgets.
- Ensuring that all Programmes’ budgets are fully planned to ensure that customer and business requirements are met.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.
- Assist in the preparation for EPPs.
- Support Baseline Change creation.
- Help with looking for better ways to generate information for the team (Share Point, Confluence, MS Project, PowerPoint).
- Collaborate with the Master Planner/Scheduler to help drive schedule related activities using MS Project
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- Experience as a Project Coordinator / Project Controller, or similar role in a PMO (Project Management Office) environment
- Working knowledge of and experience in SAP cost planning and reporting.
- The ability to work with, analyse and understand key performance data and metrics.
- Helps to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
- Works under very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
- Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of standard concepts and principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office application including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience using Microsoft Share Point
- Positive “can do” attitude
- Contribute to, and work within, the Collaboration framework developed for the Space pursuits (charter, values and behaviours)
- Willingness to learn and attention to detail
- The ability to work with an international technical and skill-diverse team
- Projects experience in the Space, Engineering or Defence sectors
- Experience managing and controlling programmes in order to achieve successful financial outcomes.
- Experience in the development, maintenance and control of complex event-driven project plans and their impact on budgets and financial performance
- Share Point administration, ARM (risk tool) and Earned Value Management experience is desirable
