WHAT TO EXPECT
This role is an opportunity to be at the cutting edge, developing Jaguar Land Rover’s technology platform, including its next generation of assisted & automated driving system, infotainment, connectivity and body systems, acting as a technical project planner. This role will enable the delivery of projects and their interdependencies, it will involve senior stakeholder management, prioritising activities and directing and managing others to complete activities on time, to cost and quality targets. It will involve evaluating (and evolving) the assessment of maturity of the architecture, ideally based on experience working with vehicles’ electrical architecture (including hardware, software and systems development). As part of this team, you will drive a key area of JLR’s transformation of its digital platform, covering both on-vehicle technologies and off-board cloud infrastructure, and be at the cutting edge of JLR’s development into an Agile, tech focussed organisation.
In this role you will join a welcoming, inclusive team, focussed on the project management of the vehicle architecture and operating the Agile organisation for Jaguar Land Rovers ‘Digital Product Platform’ function (covering >2,500 staff globally). As a team, we operate as an Agile squad ourselves, to operate as efficiently and collaboratively as possible.
- Programme gateways successfully delivered to pre-agreed timing plan, on budget and to necessary level of quality
- Risks categorised and actively mitigated to support delivery
- Resolution of disconnects between architecture delivery timing and vehicle programme requirements
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Deliver projects utilising project management techniques to ensure the delivery and achievement of strategic business objectives
- Work with the operational business to understand current processes and to document and prioritise requirements for changes and additions
- Support of required Governance, including milestone reporting, project status reporting, and risk and issue management
- Apply Agile project management principles in order to develop more effective and efficient ways of working
- Manage stakeholders to ensure projects add value and are aligned to stakeholder expectations
- Lead process improvement activities to ensure PM team activities are efficient in enabling the delivery by Digital Product Platform and other Engineering Technical Centres
- Plan for and manage project risks, issues and dependencies to maximise likelihood of project success, escalating upwards where necessary
- Undertake and support scenario planning as required
- Effective stakeholder management to ensure projects add value and are aligned to stakeholder expectations
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience of working in a Project Planner role with a track record of successful delivery
- Experience of project planning or development of vehicle electrical architecture hardware/software/systems
- Proven Stakeholder Management experience, specifically the ability to confidently advise and influence stakeholders
- Commercially astute with an ability to understand the business function that this role supports, including proven experience of collating and analysing business cases and their associated metrics (ROI, NPV etc.)
- Methodical detailed approach to work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base
- Ability to manage significant risks and issues
- Negotiation and adaptability
- Experience of working in Agile environment, preferably operating with experience of Agile at Scale
- Good working understanding of basics of vehicle electrical content and feature delivery management (Electrical Distribution Systems, networks, systems engineering practice etc.)
- Relevant qualification and/or training in a recognised appropriate Project Management methodology
- Experience of both vehicle programme, including key vehicle programme milestones, requirements etc
- Understanding of factors driving software delivery quality
Experience of Agile development methods, preferably including a form of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE)
