The COO Office plays a key role in supporting the smooth running and development of the Core Investment platform through main missions:

  • Actively contribute to AXA IM business development by being a main stakeholder or lead project manager of all large platform strategic initiatives and following up new business on-boarding or activity transformations.
  • In partnership with the different AXA IM support functions, create a robust operational environment capable of supporting daily activity and business development ambitions. As part of this mission, the COO Office is notably in charge of fueling thinking around transformation needs and structuring Core Investment’s participation to industry or AXA IM evolution initiatives: management of regulatory change, definition of our technology project agenda, etc.
  • Be a thought-partner in strategic planning and monitor financial performance for the Core Investment platform, which includes supporting business plan building and activity reviews and developing the required financial KPIs to steer Core Investment’s financials over time.
  • Be a First Line Business Controls/first line of defense for the fund management activity globally and maintain an appropriate and tailored governance model.

Responsibilities:

As part of the AXA IM Core COO Office, the Project/Business Coordination Intern will work closely with the London teams mainly with some contacts with the Paris and Asian based teams; on 3 main activities essentially:

  • First Line control testing & automation work:

- Fully understand and be able to test the adherence of investment teams’ adherence to front office controls for the AXA IM Equities, Fixed Income and Multi-asset business areas

- Summarize control data for presentation to Heads of Investments Senior Manager MI

- Help drive best practice and synergies across these areas to unify the control testing framework and processes as one platform

- Support the Business Control Manager with project management of enhancements

  • MIFID II & Corporate Access related projects work:

- Coordinate the review and work closely with the fund managers on corporate access & investment research

- Work with the Core COO office team to design an appropriate process/framework for AXA IM Core

  • Regulatory developments’ projects around the process/policies design and implementation:

- Support the Core COO Office team on the process & controls design, documentation, implementation & oversight of the MAR related processes and other regulatory topics

- Contribute to governance activities & working groups with Compliance & internal stakeholders (fund managers, traders…) on various regulatory topics

What type of profile we look for:

The placement program is aimed at undergraduate or postgraduate students who have the option to take up to a year out in industry or a series of internships as part of their degree.

  • Expected minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) at an accredited college or university.
  • Understanding of the asset management industry with a particular interest in portfolio management.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to interact with senior Front Office personnel.
  • Proficient use of MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word for the creation of MI Capacity to evolve in a diverse, multi-cultural global context.
  • Self-motivated with drive & strong record of achievement.
