As Project and Transformation Director the primary focus of your role will be to:
- Lead and drive the transformation programme for NHS Supply Chain for the strategic customer implementations and refresh / renewal activities such as the design, build, fit out, and start-up of all NHS distribution centres
- Drive innovation and supply chain excellence into all areas of the NHS Supply Chain contract
- Ensure that the strategic transformation agenda is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards, enabling seamless operations with no disruption to customer service
- Ensure that SLAs and KPIs are met and exceeded throughout the programme / project, with all dependencies and risks being robustly managed
- Lead, maintain, and optimise the relationships between Unipart Logistics and the SCCL customers in order to inform and provide supply chain transformation for the NHS
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
- Influence and advise the customer on supply chain innovations and best practice
- Interpret customer decisions into tactical delivery plans
- Feed customer strategic requirements in to the Solutions Design team and ensure any proposed operational solution meet the long term strategic aims of the customer
- Work with all 3rd party IT providers (WMS/OMS) in respect to operational functionality specifications to ensure they deliver the strategic requirements
- Work with the Property and Facilities teams to ensure that any builds or property acquisitions meet the strategic and tactical needs of the customer
- Work with Health and Safety and Compliance teams to ensure upcoming changes in Unipart and legal standards and requirements are assessed and have a robust implementation plan for the customer e.g. MDR compliance
- Work with the HR function to set out how the NHS Supply Chain people plan will meet the strategic aims of the customer and transformation ongoing to the network – including aspects such as terms and conditions, TUPE, structures, recruitment, union engagement, and training
- Build close relationships with the NHS operational leadership team with a view to enabling smooth transition from project to business as usual
- Ensure budget creation is robust and that financial controls are in place to deliver the project within the authorised spend levels
- Lead and inspire the Programme and Project Management community both within Unipart and SCCL to ensure appropriate project governance, dependencies, and risks and issues and managed
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!
- Experience at operating and influencing at a senior level
- Proven ability in implementing operational change projects, including dependency and risk management
- Experience of new build and new site start-ups – both in a manual and automated environment
- Experience of operating both warehouse and transport operations at Director level
- Ability to work under pressure in a challenging and constantly changing environment
- Commercial experience gained within the area of solution design and business development
- Experience in a fast changing, volume driven environment, demonstrating flexibility and ability to deal with change
- Clear leadership skills, energy, and passion
- Proven effective relationships with client / customer
- Ability to build strong, strategic relationships with both internal and external contacts
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at senior management levels
