Job description
The Project Administration Officer will provide high quality, professional administrative support in relation to financial, technical and logistical administration to the PI of the SPECIAL (https://research.reading.ac.uk/palaeoclimate/) group at Reading University to support two projects: (1) the LEMONTREE (Land Ecosystem Models based On New Theory, observations and Experiments) project (worth $10.9 million in funding to the University of Reading and running from January 2021 – September 2026) and (2) the Leverhulme Centre for Wildfires, Environment and Society (https://centreforwildfires.org/) in which Reading is a participating institution and which runs until 2029.
The post holder will be focused on administrative and support tasks with a key focus on delivering excellent levels of service and support to the project team, managing their own workload and priorities without close daily supervision.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to use own initiative and plan, manage and prioritize workload effectively to meet varied and strict project delivery deadlines
- Ability to understand and manage a range of administrative procedures (e.g. finance, travel, recruitment, research contracts)
- Good inter-personal skills with an ability to engage and work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting at all levels across the university and external organisations
