Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a Project Accountant 1 who will be responsible for setting up and billing projects for a segment of the consulting business at Woodard & Curran (W&C). Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in effectively in a team setting with a diverse group of people.
What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
Work with Project Managers (PMs) on the project initiation, precontract, and change order, and close out processes.
Actively participate in the procurement process.
Issue draft invoices and billing reports for projects, work with Project Managers (PM’s) to edit draft invoices as needed and produce final invoice packages for clients including any required supporting documentation.
Conduct billing moves and understand how they affect Payroll, AP, and Billing.
Void and reissue invoices when necessary, including posting to the correct accounting period.
Interpret client contracts in order to ensure proper project setup including correct compensation, cost budgets, and billing terms.
Assist PM’s in developing and or communicating the budgeted allowance for staff types and personnel on projects.
Attend quarterly project meetings with PM and PFA and execute on action items as discussed.
Can provide financial support or review proposals.
Process project closeouts, including WIP and AR write-offs.
Research and resolve questions and/or issues concerning project accounting and provide analysis and backup for Projects/Contracts when requested.
Produce ad hoc reports for Project Managers including financial reporting.
Assist with the annual audit.
Minimal travel may be required.

What You Will Need To Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-2 years of relevant experience; or 3-4 years of relevant experience.
Understand project revenue, profitability and its impacts on project performance and be able to discuss the process with PMs.
Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Proficient in Deltek Vision, EleVia, or similar project accounting software preferred.
Basic knowledge of project accounting concepts and practices preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to think critically and problem solve.
Pay:
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
Annual Incentive Bonus Opportunity:
Eligible positions may receive an annual cash bonus based on the role’s organizational level, and is represented as a percentage range of eligible earnings.
