National Trust North Devon’s Lorna Doone Valley site (comprising of the Buttery Café, Cloud A key part of the role will be working closely with property heads of department and teams, and you will ensure opportunities for conservation, interpretation and engagement are realised throughout the site. Reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer and within the Visitor Experience team there will be opportunities for learning and development within Programming and Visitor Experience at the National Trust. Salary range dependent on experience £22152 - £23,556 What it's like to work here:You’ll be based at Lorna Doone; a combined café, retail, holiday cottage, car park and camping site on the Devon / Somerset border. National Trust North Devon’s Lorna Doone Valley site (comprising of the Buttery Café, Cloud Farm Campsite and associated buildings and land) were acquired in 2020 and as the site offering grows you'll be responsible for leading and delivering the programming, partnerships and visitor experience offering for the property as well as creating promotional content. The role will include detailed overall programming and partnership planning, including on-site delivery and be responsible for the day-to-day visitor experience provision at the site. What you'll be doing:You’ll play a key role in the effective creation and delivery of an engaging programme that delivers a varied offer giving visitors, local community and partners a great experience. You’ll be responsible for programme of activities and partnerships at Lorna Doone Valley for example, this could be the planning, creating, and delivering of family trails, implementing nationally co-ordinated visitor programmes, marketing and promoting our offer to the local community, the forging of new third-party partnerships to bring a range of activities to the valley or the leading and development of active programming such as walking or sports activities. You’ll work with a variety of departmental leads to promote and champion the various offers including; food and beverage, car parking, our outdoor experiences, membership, holiday accommodation (holiday cottages & Cloud Farm Campsite), and be responsible for standards of presentation and interpretation on site to help connect our visitors with our cause. It will involve detailed planning and delivery to create best in class visitor experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with others across the property and organisation to deliver our vision for the site. Who we're looking forTo be successful in this role you'll need to able to have; Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent time management and organisation skills. Excellent people skills, to build strong working relationships internally and externally. Strong organisational skills including setting priorities, and meeting deadlines and problem solving. Be able to bring ideas and creativity to the table. Experience and/or understanding of visitor operations. Be highly motivated, make things happen with a willingness to learn and develop in this hands-on role. Own transport as the location has very limited public transport links.
