Astroscale UK & Europe are seeking an experienced Programmes Director to join the Executive Leadership Team, maintaining a solid bridge between the overall company strategy and project execution.
As a hands on business leader with a significant space sector delivery track record you will assume project management leadership and ensure project delivery across the business with your team of senior and mid level programme and project managers. You will direct and oversee multiple parallel mission-level space projects from kick-off to completion, identifying barriers to success and implement counter strategies to ensure the projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the high quality standard we expect.
As a Director you will delivery effective management of projects in line with both customer requirements and the business need, promoting an on time and to to quality cost ethos in line with Astroscale's ethos to engender 'One Astroscale' with a collaborative, cohesive team spirit.

Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for the delivery of the ASUK programmes and projects.
- Work closely with the ASUK leadership team to mitigate risk and barriers to success
- Cascade strategic priorities to your team with a credible action plan to achieve results
- Lead collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee programme planning and project delivery
- Lead by example to drive your team to ensure high performance, coaching and mentoring as a matter of routine
Essential Skills
- 12+ years experience in programmes management
- 5+ years experience of Director / C-Suite level in the space industry
- Experience leading and managing a team of project management professionals
- Complete technical project management skillset
- Experience with spacecraft sub systems
- An understanding of people and the desire to achieve through mutual success
- Resilient, results orientated, persistent and self motivated.
- Fluency in English
Desirable skills
- Experience of space debris removal, end of life, in orbit maintenance of satellite servicing
- Fluency in another language
