Currently, the INPO Data Science department has an intern position that it seeks to fill with high caliber engineering students throughout the year. Ideally, participants in the INPO program enter in their second year of college. Assignments are challenging and build upon the work experience gained. This position is also made available to work on projects in the INPO Data Management and Industry Trends department. Participants gain a perspective of nuclear facility operations and events, regulations, and organizational challenges to supplement the technical knowledge gained through college.
Essential Functions
- Performance indicator development and document production
- Updating and maintaining quality assurance tools for INPO’s applications that create performance indicators
- Updating and maintaining job aids and how-to documents that support development, use, and maintenance of INPO’s Plant Information Center and Industry Reporting and Information System
- Supporting triage of industry service requests for INPO’s Plant Information Center and Industry Reporting and Information System
- Maintaining status on Department Improvement Plans
- Maintaining status of strategic operations, activities, and actions

Education
Required
- Enrolled in programs leading to BS in a technical area such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics
Preferred
- Enrolled in at least second year of college curriculum
Behaviors and Assessments/Additional Requirements
- Employment is dependent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug and alcohol test

- This position requires direct or indirect access to certain export-controlled technology, for which INPO may be required to obtain an export license in accordance with applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations.
