Programme Support Assistants (PSAs) are a valuable part of the programme teams in UWE Bristol’s Schools of Art, Design, Culture and Media. The role acts as liaison, buffer and support between students and staff – supporting students in their learning, developing practice and achieving their preferred destinations in these practice-based programmes

In addition, PSAs often help facilitate healthy and dynamic working environments and assist with project management support for student-led programme specific initiatives and profile-raising projects such as external events and publications that may sit outside the formal academic curricula and student experience.

Our Media & Journalism cluster includes 4 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate programmes: BA (Hons) Media Production and its pathways (Journalism and Creative Content), BA (Hons) Broadcast Journalism, BA Hons (Hons) Journalism & PR, BA (Hons) Media & Journalism and MA Journalism, and its pathways (Audio Docs and Podcast and Specialist Features). Identifying and facilitating extracurricular activities to enrich the student experience, is key element of this role. You will also assist the team by contributing to and implementing the social media strategy to promote student work and team activities.

This a fantastic fixed term opportunity, covering a period of maternity leave until 18 October 2023 or the earlier return of the substantive post holder.

  • Identifying and co-ordinating excursions, such as attendance at News Impact Summits
  • Showcase student work through a range of online channels
