Job description
Programme Manager - HOP
Deliveroo is a multi-award winning, international food business and one of the most successful recent technology companies to come out of the UK. We are on a mission to transform the way customers eat, just as Airbnb has for travel and Amazon has for e-commerce. Our aim is to bring great food to customers as fast as possible and in less than 30 minutes. Whether you want Pad Thai in the evening, a salad at lunch or forgot some key grocery items, we've got it covered.
We're looking for people with exceptional drive and entrepreneurial spirit to join the team and help us build the leading grocery service.
The Team
This role sits within the Strategic Initiatives team, whose remit is to tackle some of Deliveroo's most intriguing and demanding challenges in its most rapidly growing business vertical. This team reports into the VP of Global Grocery and focuses on providing a seamless shopping experience for our Grocery customers across the world. The team also works closely with stakeholders in HOP, Deliveroo's very-own superfast supermarket, which operates in the UK, Italy, France, UAE, and Hong Kong. As a member of this team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and help shape the future of Deliveroo's Grocery division.
The Role
The Programme Manager will manage a variety of projects end to end, including the delivery of new HOP sites globally. They will also work closely with the Global Grocery team to roll out new product offerings and key initiatives to strategic partners. This could include facilitating the adoption of new grocery technologies in thousands of partner sites, implementing improvements to the way we pick, pack and ship orders, or rolling out new partners on the platform across multiple countries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, product and legal, to drive initiatives forward. You will need to be comfortable working at pace, communicating with senior stakeholders, and managing projects in different stages of their lifecycle. We are looking for a self-starter who takes ownership, can build strong relationships across the business and drive projects forward in a controlled manner.
What you'll be doing
- Plan and manage the delivery of projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market plans for new markets and product offerings.
- Communicate clearly and succinctly in surfacing key issues, dependencies and potential timeline risks to senior stakeholders (e.g. tech delays, contracting issues with a potential new partner etc.)
- Optimise our processes to ensure we learn from every launch and get faster and more streamlined every time
- Manage multiple projects at once, prioritising effectively across competing issues (e.g. launching a new market, operationalising a new site selection framework, rolling out a new warehouse process)
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
- Strong track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
- Able to influence challenging stakeholders with competing priorities
- Note: this role is UK based
Benefits and Diversity
At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer a wide range of competitive benefits in areas including health, family, finance, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation.
We believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest growing startups in an incredibly exciting space.
