What you’ll be doing:
- Working closely with one of our Programme area Directors, you will provide support to driving forward key transformational projects and initiatives, ensuring we continuously optimise and deliver value to the business
- Supporting the senior leadership team with strategy development and deployment
- Strengthening the systems of work on the project
- Supporting the project management processes and principles to ensure effective delivery of our project and improvement initiatives
- Working across departments and project delivery teams to build strong relationships and influencing successful outcomes across a number of organisational boundaries
- Developing your business, project and management knowledge and skills to ready you for a career in supporting the delivery of our major programmes
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree qualified ideally in Engineering, Project Management or Business
- Stakeholder management capabilities; ability to build strong working relationships built on trust and mutual respect
- Openness and curiosity for dynamic and future trends in ideas and opportunities
- Willingness to accept change and the ability to manage it. Continuous improvement mind-set
- Persuasive, encouraging and motivating with strong interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills
Desirable:
- Good understanding of the Project Lifecycle
- Experience of working in a project/product/service delivery environment
- Experience of working with others and leading
- To understand and asses complex issues and provide leadership in order to achieve a solution

The Type 26 Programme team:
Here at Naval Ships, we are in the early stages of building 8 Type 26 City Class Frigates for the UK Ministry of Defence, which upon completion will form the backbone of the Royal Navy by providing anti-submarine protection to the entire UK defence fleet. The Type 26 warship is a state of the art/complex warship platform with a diverse range of systems, everything from water treatment plant, power generation and propulsion to underwater sonar systems, secret communications systems and radar.
You will work directly with the senior leadership team, providing you with a unique opportunity to learn how a Programme of this magnitude is delivered as well as supporting and sometimes leading key projects and initiatives intended to continuously transform our Programme.
