About the role

To support the development and implementation of a fuel poverty programme that takes a fabric first approach to energy efficiency alongside the installation of low-carbon heating, where appropriate, on behalf of Nottingham City Council and the Midlands Net Zero Hub

The Midlands Net Zero Hub was established in 2018 and is based within the Environment and Sustainability Division with Nottingham City Council. The MNZH is funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and covers the nine Local Enterprise Partnerships from across the Midlands. This role will form part of the retrofit team and will be responsible for assisting delivery of various retrofit grant scheme projects.

The Senior Performance Project Officer will report directly to the Principal Building Decarbonisation Project Officer within Nottingham City Councils award winning Environment and Sustainability division and will focus on:

  • Assist day-to-day operation of Midlands Net Zero Hub fuel poverty work programme
  • Act as the operational lead on programme and project reporting - specifically MNZHs regional progress against targets
  • Work with our stakeholders to understand the barriers and challenges with progress on key KPI's
  • Act as the main point of contact for the established Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, used as the primary data collection tool for multiple domestic retrofit schemes
  • Identify and utilize existing Local Authority led schemes with contractors to deliver energy efficiency and low carbon heating to off-grid low income households
  • Support the development of additional retrofit project funds and maintain existing retrofit projects
  • Provide project support and ensure associated funds' conditions are met through to completion for retrofit schemes
  • Gather and evaluate data from retrofit schemes and engage with stakeholders to collate success and lessons learned from existing Local Authority led schemes
  • Supervise 2 Grade F Project Support Officers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as energy/environmental studies, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.

· Experience in project management and coordination, specifically in the energy sector or related fields.

· Experience in working with a variety of stakeholders including supply chain and have the ability to collect and analyse data using databases or project management tools. It is also necessary to have experience in writing reports and effectively communicating project progress to stakeholders.

· A general understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy, fuel poverty, and low carbon heating solutions is ideal. Knowledgeable of project management principles as well as funding mechanisms or financial models.

· Possess excellent project coordination, planning, and organization skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable them to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.

· Possess analytical and problem-solving skills that facilitate accurate data collection and analysis. Additionally, proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software, particularly Microsoft Excel, is essential.
