POSITION SUMMARY
The Information Security Program Manager provides expertise and complements the Information Security (InfoSec) team of operations/tactical analysts and professionals. With an eye toward proactive cybersecurity initiatives and the coordination of cyber activities across the College, the manager is the primary owner of cybersecurity awareness and a key collaboration partner in the vendor risk assessment process. The manager is critical in information security compliance and risk assessment, assessing and tracking audits, and similar intelligence. As a newly created position, the manager will play a part in shaping the role while aligning the Grinnell College information security strategy with the Information Technology Services (ITS) strategic and tactical plans and the College’s strategic plan and mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the workflow of the Information Security Risk Management process.
- Ensure that risk assessments are reviewed on existing contracts
- Work with Information Security team members to assess risk and respond in a timely manner.
- Cybersecurity Awareness-managing the annual cycle of training
- Compliance-managing outputs from audits/security assessments
Position can be up to 100% remote, if desired.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- 3 years of professional experience
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to lead, manage and also work as a member of a team.
- The ability to plan and organize projects utilizing effective communication and individual efficiency skills
- Adaptable to changing situations
- Ability to utilize interpersonal skills to interact professionally and positively with all constituencies at the college

Preferred Qualifications
- Background knowledge or experience in privacy, information security, or cybersecurity
- Degree that incorporated computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field may be advantageous
