Purpose
This position is for the role of Academic Program Coordinator in the Plan II Honors Program in the College of Liberal Arts. The role will cover all aspects of course scheduling and course support, various student programming aspects, including social engagement and experiential learning programs, and will also provide curriculum and faculty support to the Assistant Director. The position will work with the Assistant Director to manage and coordinate the Plan II Thesis Course and Thesis Symposium, Sophomore T C 125K course, and curriculum planning and development.
Responsibilities
- Course Scheduling: Manage all processes and reporting requirements related to course scheduling, including, but not limited to: class manager & course schedule updates, FaSET, CES, final exams, final grade reporting, course descriptions, flag proposals, room scheduling, textbook orders, HB2504 compliance, and more.
- Thesis Program: Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the thesis program for the Plan II Honors Major, including the fall and spring thesis symposium events, and all the administrative tasks for the three thesis courses offered each fall and spring. With the assistant director, serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including faculty (supervisors/second readers), students, Associate Directors, graduate Teaching Assistant, and Dean’s Office certification contact.
- T C 125K Sophomore Course: Support Assistant Director in implementation and coordination of the new Sophomore T C 125K College Success course.
- Faculty Events: Responsible for the organization and support of various faculty events, including faculty appreciation events, guest lectures, and more.
- Liaison for Plan II Study Abroad programs: Manage the development, coordination, implementation, and assessment of Plan II Study Abroad Programs. Collaborate with and serve as a central point of contact for all stakeholders including faculty program leaders, students, Study Abroad Office contacts, schedulers, and Academic Advisors in partnership with academic units. Institute process improvements, tweak communications, and update logistics based on feedback to enhance the student experience.
- Student Programming: Facilitate the growth and sustainability of various student support programs, including the Plan II/KIPP partnership, the Plan II Writing Fellows Program, and work with faculty and students to coordinate experiential learning events and programming.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. Three or more years experience with course scheduling at UT. Experience working with college students in an administrative or advising capacity. Demonstrated ability to work well on a team but also to work effectively independently. A commitment to providing excellent administrative support. A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to multitask and handle concurrent projects with accuracy, diplomacy, and discretion. Demonstrated reliable and responsible work performance. Experience with managing confidential information. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with UT’s internal systems. Experience working with student research. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, responds well to feedback, able to work well during busy periods while juggling competing priorities, effective at prioritizing tasks and initiatives, works well as part of a team and independently, demonstrates a commitment to help and go the extra mile.
Salary Range
$52,000+ depending on qualifications
