Kaizen is hiring highly motivated early career professionals who are looking to create social impact in a fast-paced and rewarding work environment.
Role and responsibilities: Support Kaizen in the management of international development projects in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Central America. This includes tracking budgets, compiling invoices and other financial documents, reviewing reports and other work products, supporting staff in the field with travel and human resources assistance. Stand on-call to address unexpected field team needs.
The Program Management Coordinator also supports Kaizen’s New Business Team to prepare for and pursue new contracts. This includes managing calendars, partner inputs, staff inputs, and budgeting. It also includes research, recruiting, and technical writing.
Skills and characteristics: Strong attention to detail, ability to adhere to deadlines and help others to do so too, natural inclination to develop and improve systems, ability to record and track expenses and budgets, eagerness to learn, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, eagerness to serve as a team player, ability to work in multiple cultures, highly motivated, self-starting, intellectually curious and flexible, a passion for learning, and deeply committed to social impact. Quantitative backgrounds and proficiency in a foreign language (particularly French) is a plus.
Experience: Two years with international development implementer and/or a Masters degree preferred.
We will also consider applications from graduating students with stellar academic records from top institutions. A wide range of majors are acceptable including physical science, social science, international relations, economics, interdisciplinary programs, engineering, and business administration.
Work environment: While Kaizen’s home office is located in Arlington, Virginia this position is considered virtual. International travel may also be required and include trips to projects in Middle East, Africa, Central America, and other places in which Kaizen manages contracts.
