Accountant
Role Purpose

Following a successful restructure, we are looking to further strengthen our existing Finance team to support the delivery of the Council's new and ambitious 4-year Strategic Plan.

We are recruiting to 3 Accountant posts (revenue focused) with a range of financial and management accounting, reconciliation and reporting responsibilities (including budget build, budget monitoring, business partnering, journal/ virement maintenance, grant income management) for the following front line service areas, each requiring a good knowledge of the revenue related issues for the respective service area:
- 1 within our Health/ Adults/Community Finance team
- 1 within our Corporate Services Finance team (i.e. supporting central services such as IT, Legal, HR, Chief Executives etc.)
- 1 within our Place Finance team (i.e. supporting Environment and Housing services)
We are also recruiting to 2 Accountant posts (capital focused) with a range of financial and management accounting, reconciliation and reporting responsibilities including supporting budget build, budget monitoring, business partnering, grant income management and other aspects in respect of capital as appropriate) for the following front line service areas, each requiring a good knowledge of the capital related issues for the respective service area:
- 1 within our Children and Culture Finance team (covers children services and sports, arts and cultural services)
- 1 within our Place Finance team (i.e. supporting Environment and Housing services)
It is desirable that the successful candidates have a CCAB or CIMA qualification or at final stage and have experience in Local Government Finance.
