Position Summary:
Manage and execute all administrative and operational functions for programs. The Program in Composition: Songwriting during the academic year, including J-term and summer. Coordinate with the Program Director, Faculty, Directors of other programs and Department Administration on matters that affect the academic programming and realization of curated public-facing events. Oversee and coordinate the administration of private lessons, courses under the control of the Program (personnel, scheduling, space, enrollment) and admissions activities; manage budgets, merit scholarships, donor funds, and grants: and work closely with the Department Administration on special projects. Supervise and mentor program staff and student workers. Offer cross-program support for projects and initiatives involving other academic programs within the department, School, and University and, where appropriate, those with third parties.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree
Required Experience:
2+ years Professional experience and/or knowledge of composition/songwriting. Budget management experience as well as supervision of employees.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in higher education and an arts discipline relevant to the program.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to provide advice, problem solve, and interact with individuals at all levels. Ability to assess student fit for creative opportunities. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills. Proficiency with productivity and database software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Some experience with music creation, either through school, personal experience, and/or professional experience.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $64,800.00 to USD $79,200.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
