Qualifications:
General Chemistry I Lab (Chem 110L) accompanies Chemistry 110 lecture. The lab develops introductory chemistry lab skills, safety practices, and qualitative and quantitative laboratory skills, including laboratory techniques (e.g. use of pipets, burets, balances), practice in the treatment of experimental data, representation of precision and accuracy, graphical analysis of experimental data, and scientific inquiry through hypothesis-driven experimentation.
This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2023 Fall term on Wednesday from 1:30 - 4:30 pm.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field; and undergraduate teaching experience in any subfield of Chemistry. Candidates should have experience with online/hybrid instruction. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught CHEM 008, 009, 010 or 011.
This position requires all coursework to be performed in the state of California.
The salary range for this position is $6,208 - $8,340 (2.5 workload units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
