Geography and Environment
University Teacher in Physical Geography
Full-time (1.0) and fixed-term from 1st October 2023 until 30th September 2024.
This is an opportunity to join Geography and Environment at Loughborough University, part of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. Loughborough is recognised nationally and internationally for its excellence in teaching, research and enterprise. The School has an investment strategy to develop cross-disciplinary studies based around its core strengths and is in a strong financial and student recruitment position.
Applications are invited from outstanding candidates to deliver teaching on the Loughborough Geography and Environment suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with a particular interest and expertise in Physical Geography. Specific expertise in the fields of ecology, conservation and environmental management would be advantageous.
The candidate must have experience of teaching and will contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate (BA, BSc) and postgraduate (MSc) modules, including ‘Environmental Systems and Resource Management’, ‘Forest Ecology’, ‘Conservation’, ‘Research and Professional Practice’ and ‘Research-Informed Environmental Management’. Support of other areas of the curriculum will be required, and a willingness to engage in fieldwork and residential fieldcourses is expected.
Candidates are expected to have a PhD in physical geography or a closely related discipline and the clear potential to contribute to the University Strategy of ‘Creating Better Futures. Together’ in a high-performing HE environment.
