Company description
At Smart Dogs Training, our ethos is to ensure that you and your dog lead a stress – free life, because we understand the joy a dog can bring to a home.
Smart Dogs Training provides 1-2-1 training in the comfort of your home. We start with in-home sessions, allowing us to understand your dog’s domestic behaviours, but we also offer training sessions via Zoom.
Job description
At Smart Dogs Training we look after every dog as if it were our own, ensuring they receive the right level of mental and physical stimulation. We take time to get to know the dogs and their needs, offering a personal service that goes above and beyond. We walk dogs in a safe open space and return them home, happy and tired! We also provide fresh water, treats and will towel dogs off in wet weather.
Our aim is to make each walk the highlight of a dog's day, giving them an opportunity to play, socialise, enquire and explore new sights and sounds.
We also aim to help those dogs who suffer from reactivity on walks by training them for a number of sessions and then showing the owner what we did so they can continue taking their dogs out stress-free.
We are looking for a reliable Dog Walker to join our company, with varying shifts throughout the week. The Dog Walker will also be training dogs out on walks too so experience is required. There will be a variety of different dog breeds with different needs, so confidence handling dogs is a must - but we will provide support until you are feeling comfortable.
Please note shifts and work hours are likely to change on a week by week basis, so please only apply if you flexibility to work varying hours.
You will need:
- A full clean UK driving license.
- 2 years experience minimum - working and training with dogs
- A car to travel between clients in the local area (NE1 - NE28).
- Great time-keeping skills.
- To be able to stay calm and confident when handling dogs with different behavioural needs.
- To be able to lift, exercise, handle and restrain dogs of all shapes and temperaments
- A genuine interest towards dogs, their behaviour and their care.
- Flexible working availability (as shifts will likely change each week).
- Good communication skills between the team, as well as in a client-facing role.
- To be able to follow instructions and undergo training as required.
- To be trust-worthy and reliable.
- To be able to walk for a few hours a day / be physically fit enough to cope with the demands of dog walking on a daily basis.
Please note I'll only be able to read through applications sent on Indeed, so please do not reach out to me via social media to apply.
