Role Purpose
To prepare the apprentice to be able to demonstrate consistently that they have met the required industry and set professional standards enabling them to be supported through gateway to end point assessment. This will include supporting the employer to confidently decide at what point this will take place.
End point assessment can be inclusive of a wide array of testing and assessment methodologies which will be specific to your sector. You will support the apprentice for readiness for end point assessment by ensuring that they are capable and confident in all expected methods.
The ideal candidate will have served a formal carpentry & joinery apprenticeship with relevant industry experience. Subject knowledge of all aspects of carpentry & joinery at a practical and theoretical level is a pre-requisite for the position.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required
Demonstrable experience as a Qualified Carpenter
A1/V1 Assessor/Verifier Awards or be prepared to gain this
Literate and numerate holding a minimum level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English
Demonstrates experience of main skills relevant to role
Qualification within the construction Industry, Site Carpentry Level 2 NVQ or equivalent
CSCS Card or commitment to achieve this
Desired
NVQ Level 3 in Site Carpentry
Level 3 in Education and Training
Duties
Deliver work-based learning and assessments to apprentices both at college campus and out at learners workplace
Conduct learning reviews with apprentices timely in college and at the workplace
Work with curriculum teams to Implement a student-centred negotiated learning programme in accordance with the College’s curriculum framework.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with Employers and provide regular feedback on learner progress
Promote wider subjects with apprentices to help them understand Equality and Diversity, British values and Professional/personal development
You will deliver subject learning materials to the learners with a variety of learning needs, and carry the necessary assessment preparation and planning. You will maintain student discipline in compliance with the College's Disciplinary Code and carry out duties at all times in accordance with the College's equal opportunities and health and safety procedures. This role will include travel to various employer sites and will be subject to remote working.

The salary for this role is up to £33,116 per annum (FTE) dependent on skills and experience.
