Production operative trainee at Kamco Limited – August 2023
Kamco manufacture and sell specialist pumps and chemicals into a number of diverse market areas, with customers ranging from plumbers to power stations, plastic moulding companies and a growing marine market. Whilst the majority of sales are into the UK we have a growing export business and are supplying products into the USA, most European countries, Scandinavia, Asia and Australasia.
All work is at our modern St Albans premises and we envisage a job for a school leaver to learn all facets involved in a small manufacturing business, from purchasing, manufacturing, and the necessary paperwork procedures to process orders and get them to the customers.
We don’t expect an applicant to have all skills, but to have a willingness to learn, and an enquiring mind. On the manufacturing side the ability to use basic hand tools is essential, and, as everywhere, for handling office work, the usual keyboard skills ands some familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) would be required.
A trainee would be fully supported and taught each skill thoroughly and comprehensively, and would not be expected to work without a mentor.
