Realistically achievable earnings of a General Assistant including overtime and on call payments are £32,000.

We are pleased to be offering the opportunity to join our team. We are looking for a candidate who can learn and develop their skills on the job and work toward becoming a Drainage Engineer.
The General Assistant will create a positive Company image working collaboratively with others; and will be expected to carry out, as required, the following:
As a General Assistant you will need to:
- To assist the Engineer with all required aspects of day to day drainage cleaning and basic plumbing work including reactive jobs and pre planned maintenance. This may include physical activities i.e. heavy lifting, excavation works, working at height and working in a confined space.
- To liaise and work alongside work colleagues and sub-contractors and have the ability to use own initiative to solve problems under the supervision of the Engineer
- To assist the Engineer to investigate a problem and conclude the best corrective action
- To attend sites to assist the Engineer and resolve problems as instructed by Operations Manager working within the IVDC safe system of work
- To provide and promote the best possible service
- To assist the Engineer with the relay of onsite information and updates of work completed/recommendations for further works to office team for processing
- To complete job cards and other related paperwork as required by the Engineer
- To assist the Engineer with the general upkeep of service van and equipment and completing checklists
- To wear correct clean uniform/PPE issued at all times to maintain the IVDC corporate image
