Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Reporting to the director of communications, the video production specialist serves as a member of the communications team under the umbrella of the Office of Advancement. The position is charged with developing creative ways to leverage video and video technology to meet advancement and enrollment objectives such as fundraising, stewardship, and marketing.
- Shoot, edit, and produce video content for all areas of Jesuit Dallas, highlighting the School's various programs in support of enrollment-driven and donor-focused initiatives
- Establish a strategy, schedule, and management plan to produce video content for internal and external distribution
- Create various video highlight packages, as well as high-quality, splash/hype videos that help drive engagement and attendance
- Gather B-roll footage and direct students, faculty, and donors as needed in the production of video content
- Serve as videographer at community events and service projects, as needed
- Provide day-to-day oversight of the School's on campus digital signage (Rise Vision)
- Manage Jesuit's ThankView platform and related video-based stewardship efforts
- Collaborate with the digital communications specialist in the creation and execution of a social media content strategy, utilizing analytics, best practices, and creative storytelling to drive engagement across those channels
- Must be an organized and detailed self-starter, able to follow directions as well as lead projects from concept to installation while thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable multitasking; working on shorter projects with tight deadlines as well as long-term video campaigns
- Knowledge of various forms of media including but not limited to, cinematography, commercial/studio/field production, lighting schemes, video and audio editing, and graphic animation
- Proficiency with video editing and production software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
- Ability to develop strong and versatile visual concepts for digital storytelling
- Knowledge and experience with the technical use of professional/industrial grade digital cameras
- Knowledge and use of video conversion software for distribution to digital outlets as well as digital media
- Experience with professional audio equipment including microphones, placement, multi-box/bridges, and connectors
- Capacity to work well with numerous constituents to develop concepts that align with measurable outcomes
- Ability to develop strong and versatile visual concepts for electronic display
- Ability to stay current on emerging and new digital trends, video equipment, and best practices in video production
- Proficiency in three-point lighting and television/stage lighting techniques including use of incandescent, florescent and/or tungsten lights, along with dimmers, gels and other lighting enhancement materials is desirable
- Due to the demanding nature of providing video production services to a highly engaged school community, the position will be required to maintain a flexible schedule during the school year
- The video production specialist may be required to attend public events and meetings outside normal working hours, and will be expected to travel and work some weekends as a function of their normal job responsibilities
- Works in a stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts
- May alternatively work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time while also spending a lot of hours walking and/or standing
