Right now, we now have an exciting opportunity at our Port of Liverpool CHP plant. This plant supplies heat and power to local businesses and has the capacity to generate up to 240 GWh of electricity and 300 GWh of heat each year. We’re looking for a Production Technician to help ensure the safe, compliant and efficient operation of our plant. As an experienced technician you’ll confidently carry out first line maintenance of the plant, maintaining legal requirements whilst maximising commercial benefits.
Of course in this role, safety is paramount. As an experience professional, you will actively promote a culture of health, safety and environmental awareness. You’ll foster a culture of continual improvement, which will see you take responsibility for introducing and implementing site-based health & safety initiatives. You’ll also be accountable for the implementation of effective work control, working with the site maintenance team to ensure the safety of everyone on-site, not just day to day, but also during outages or site projects.

What we need from you
- Extensive engineering and maintenance experience gained within a similar role and process industry.
- First line maintenance experience across relevant discipline area (Process, Electrical, C&I, Mechanical)
- Experience of operating within safety, environment and operational polices and statutory legislation.
- A proven ability to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues, evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with site teams and key internal and external stakeholders.
- A working knowledge of key PC based computer systems.
It would be great if you had
- IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health), or equivalent, qualification.
- Financial and commercial awareness.
- A proactive approach by clearly identifying practical and effective means of improving technical, commercial or procedural aspects.
Here’s what you need to know
- The salary range for this role is £54,871 - £60,967. This includes all allowances.
- This role is based at E.ON Port of Liverpool CHP Plant, Regent Road, Bootle, Liverpool, L20 1ED.
- This role entails working 12-hour shifts (2 days on, 2 nights on, 6 days off) and lone-working following successful completion of training.
- This is a fixed-term contract role for 15 months, with the potential to be extended / become permanent.
- Due to the nature of this role a Criminal Record Check is required.
