Description:

Production Technicians play a crucial role in leading or assisting with the pre-production, installation, operation, and strike of various elements required for theatrical productions, education programs and special events. This position works closely with the production team to ensure the smooth execution of events and contribute to creating exceptional experiences for our audiences. This role is a part time position with selected candidates added to a roster of technicians whose work schedule is determined by the organization's production calendar.

Requirements:

Essential Job Functions

  • Load and unload materials from trucks as needed.
  • Assemble and disassemble parts as needed.
  • Move and rearrange furniture as needed.
  • Unload and set up road cases as needed.
  • Set up stage, risers, and musical equipment as needed.
  • Ensure props, scenery, drapery is affixed / set properly in relation to all elements required for production or event.
  • Lead and/or assist with video, sound, and light production as needed.
  • Work with electricians and lighting assistants as needed.
  • Work with video technicians and video assistants as needed.
  • Work with carpenters and stagehands as needed.
  • Clean up stage / backstage / control area before / after event.
  • Perform operation duties required to execute the needs for each individual production and event.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Technical and Production Manager.

Other Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Use of a car required; legally registered and insured for daily use
  • Use of a computer/monitor, telephone, and copier daily
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when required and agreed upon
  • Team environment with frequent group meeting participation
  • Physical requirements: Lifting/Carrying - heavy work may include routine lifting of a maximum weight of 50 lbs. Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and driving on a frequent basis
