Production Team Member (Packing PM)

Location: Dulcote, Wells

Salary: £12.66 per hour (Inclusive of premiums)

Working Hours - Monday to Friday (5:30pm - 1:30am)

The Role -

Are you a Night Owl or someone who is looking for a shift that is after school hours and fits around your usual routines? This shift runs Monday to Friday 5:30pm until 1:30am and will be perfect for you.

When our dishes arrive with the packing team they have now been chilled and are ready for the finishing touches. The packing team are responsible for adding any final toppings to the dishes and for sealing, wrapping, and packing the dishes ready to be sent out to the supermarket shelves.

As a packing team member, you will be:

  • Using the speciality equipment to help identify and remove dishes that don’t meet the Bigham standards
  • Carefully measuring and adding toppings to finish off our dishes and make them extraordinary.
  • Re-filling our packing machines with new carboard sleeves or boxes
  • Accurately stacking boxed dishes onto pallets and moving any filled pallets into logistics
  • Maintaining high hygiene levels and keeping a tidy workspace
  • Maintaining food preparation records and logs
  • Carrying out effective and accurate shift handovers
  • Flagging any issues with the equipment within your area
  • Work as part of a fast paced team towards the completion of the daily plan


What you’ll need

  • The ability to work with various technology including packing and quality check machinery, so computer literacy is important. Previous experience in a machinist-based role is desirable but not essential
  • High attention to detail and a strong quality focus

  • The ability to learn how to use existing and newly introduced packing equipment
  • A positive approach to work
  • A desire to develop their skills and work as part of a team
