Following substantial investment by leading global construction firm, GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C), Elements Europe have a number of large projects in the pipeline and is looking to scale up the delivery capability with immediate effect.

Job Title: Production Supervisor

Level: Supervisor

Department: Production

Reports to: Production Manager

Direct Reports: Team Leaders and Production Operatives

Salary: £37,000 – £40,000 per annum

We are seeking experienced Production Supervisors, reporting to Production Managers. The ideal individuals will be responsible for the day-to-day production activities throughout the factory, ensuring that customer due dates are met and products are manufactured to the correct standard of quality.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • 100% commitment to Lean manufacturing methodology and Continuous improvement strategy and tasks
  • Reviewing production schedules and ensuring production expectations are communicated to teams.
  • Liaise between quality/design for problem resolutions
  • People development – Production Supervisor to deputise in the event of the Production Manager’s absence
  • Material ordering and dealing with material shortages (liaising with stores, planning and procurement teams)
  • Ensure regular communication/briefings to the team with the relevant information
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation in addition to Elements Europe Risk Assessment and Procedures
  • Identify, communicate, and implement improvement opportunities
  • Responsible for providing clear direction for the team and motivating them to constantly drive efficiencies
  • Ensure that all works are manufactured in accordance with Elements Europe drawings and specifications
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are kept at the level required
  • Ensuring all works carried out in accordance with Elements Europe quality systems and checks
  • Required to attend the daily production meetings as and when required
  • Responsible for driving targets by ensuring the team is working to programme
  • Ensuring that the daily production issue log is populated each day
  • Responsibility for leading & developing staff, carrying out regular appraisals, coaching, mentoring and developing the production team, and identifying training needs to develop and for potential progression
  • Manage absence, conduct return-to-work interviews, and lead disciplinary hearings as and when required
  • Have exposure to and support in ensuring we meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, along with BOPAS accreditations
  • Reporting daily line performance against targets to Production Manager
  • Reporting daily production status at daily meetings and daily problem management
  • Reporting sub-contractor performance

Experience and Knowledge required:

  • Previous experience in a similar manufacturing role with a proven track record
  • Good health and safety knowledge, IOSH qualified preferred but not essential
  • Experience in managing and preparing ISO systems is advantageous
  • Experience in construction/joiner manufacturing/fabrication would be advantageous
  • IT literate
  • Must be a people person who can communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Able to work under pressure, be extremely well organised, able to multitask, requires flexibility and commitment
  • Strong team player
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to take direction and to ask questions if unsure
  • Punctual and reliable
