The Opportunity
We have an exciting new vacancy for an Production Supervisor to join and help effectively supervise and coordinate production at our Westleigh Quarry in Devon.
As the Production Supervisor, you will help manage the day to day production operations of our llimestone quarry with an annual output of around 900,000 tonnes. The quarry is an established site, spread over three linked areas (Rocknell, Westleigh and Fenacre). The deposit is high quality versatile carboniferous limestone, and the site is in a great market and living location.
The site is at an exciting stage of it’s development, and has a sizable reserve remaining. Material processing by fixed and mobile process plant, supported by class-leading CAT and Volvo equipment.
Keys aspects of the role include:
- Assist the quarry management team in the application, implementation of and compliance with the company’s H&S Rules, and to ensure that all activities under your control are conducted within the requirements of current legislation.
- Optimise utilisation of site resources, including labour
- Effectively plan to ensure that daily targets are met at optimum cost
- Supervise employees and contractors on site to ensure compliance with safe working practices.
- Support management, control and co-ordination of maintenance of fixed and mobile plant to maximise equipment uptime.
Who you are
- Previous work in heavy industry in a lead operator or supervisory capacity
- Understanding of manufacturing safety and working knowledge of appropriate environmental legislation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others
- Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities
- Understanding of budgets and financial responsibility
