An opportunity has arisen for Production Planner to join our Manufacturing Team in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. Purpose of the role is to assist the Production Manager in the execution of the ERP / MRP system generated production schedule, ensuring the plan is delivered efficiently based on material and resource availability.

Job role:

  • Working closely with the procurement, warehouse and manufacturing teams to determine the status of all material procurement and assembly activities.
  • Building and developing existing manufacturing capability using the resource in the department.
  • Execution of the ERP / MRP systems planned works order related activities (production assemblies, sub-contract works orders etc).
  • Creation and processing of ad-hoc works orders, routings and BoMs for internal conversions (reworks, revision changes etc).
  • Responsible for the expediting of overdue works orders to achieve the production schedule.
  • Attends and provides input to planning meetings with Programmes, Procurement & Production.
  • Supporting procurement/material planning (from an ERP / MRP process perspective) with the scheduling and expediting of production material.
  • Champion the production scheduling process, supporting and guiding other departments in the usage of ERP / MRP (Dynamics D365).
  • Supports and guides other departments in the usage of ERP (in the context of Demand/Supply chain scheduling).
  • Planning, optimising and improving material control and production scheduling, working closely with procurement, warehousing and manufacturing to ensure customer build schedules are achieved.
  • Support Implementation of Lean manufacturing principles into the planning and production processes.
  • Developing processes and working with the company’s ERP / MRP systems.
  • Liaison with internal departments to ensure efficient and timely introduction of new products / projects.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles into the planning and production processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy within the ERP / MRP system.

You’ll have:

  • A strong working knowledge of Production Planning and Scheduling within an Engineering company.
  • Experience of ERP systems – Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferable.
  • Experience in an engineering change environment with multiple products and complex BOMs.
  • Experience in Siemens Teamcenter or another PLM system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work with a flexible approach in a very fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Delivery and monitoring of various Key Business Performance Measures (On time delivery, Shortages, ERP data integrity).
  • Good communicator at all levels within the business – a strong ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships internally and externally, this role will be the key day to day interface with Programmes, Procurement, Warehousing and Production.
