Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Production Planner to join our team and oversee the planning schedule for lapping and machining finished goods. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with the manufacturing lead, shop floor chargehands, and customer support team to ensure smooth capacity planning and meet our customers' requirements while supporting the gas seal test plan.
The role is based in Slough, Monday to Friday during normal office hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Capacity management and scheduling for Gas seals, Wet seals and R&D components.
- Initiates continuous and effective communications between customer support and production area.
- Responsible for due date management of the assigned area.
- Reviews cell capacities and develops both short- & long-term capacity plans, establishing and adjusting schedule dates and relative priorities on work orders, adjusting lot sizes when necessary to meet manufacturing requirements and constraints.
- Determines, recommends, and provides for an alternative when demand exceeds capacities.
- Processes paperwork and maintains records as required.
- Regular communication with manufacturing and lapping shop chargehands to plan workload.
- Support subcontract processes.
- Manage “drops ins” and “breakdowns” without impacting original forecast.

The Individual
- Experience with SAP Production Planning Module.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with working in an industrial and quality standards regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, aerospace, oil, and gas, etc.).
- Experience in manufacturing complex size-critical components in a low batch high variety environment.
- Excellent people and communication skills.
