GENERAL SUMMARY
Reporting to the Master Planner, the MRP Controller is responsible for the effective Planning, Routing + Scheduling of Product assembly & Component production, in line with SAP MRP requirements to ensure that all aspects of post order manufacturing procedures are efficiently controlled, planned, and successfully completed in the required timescales, to satisfy customer and Company requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Planning, Routing and Scheduling of Assemblies + Manufactured components- Creation of routings based on requirements of the Sales Order, Material Masters - including drawings, specifications, and Engineering instructions.
- Manage the production control function to:
- Create and release production packs / orders in line with MRP date requirements.
- Monitor status of feeder materials - liaise with Buyer / expeditor where necessary.
- Advise Engineering on the BOM issues or contract requirements.
- Obtain BOM’s and customer requirements from engineering and contracts (where required) and load into shop floor and external processing requirements.
- Maintain the Production Control & Planning system in line with required delivery.
- Expedite WIP. and sub-contract orders daily, via Shop floor, Inspection, Stores and Despatch.
- Implement and maintain the routing requirements of all manufactured parts within the business at the Worksop facility.
- Liaise daily with Newbury manufacturing facility to ensure on time delivery both to and from the facility.
- Liaise with despatch, Project Management and Shipping regarding deliveries.
- Manage the MRP review of stock levels and re-order quantities to ensure the minimum value to meet delivery requirements and future growth.
- Daily review of Production Order progress, proactively working to action issues and ensure deliveries are completed on-time, with timely confirmations.
- Manage NCR’s as relevant to engineered products.
- Complete SAP Goods Inwards receipts.
- Attend and provide technical support during stocktaking.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A comprehensive understanding of MRP planning and scheduling, preferably using SAP software
- A sound mechanical engineering background - HNC or Higher preferred
- Highly organised with excellent communication and time management skills.
