Clear Choice Recruitment is working behalf of a Knowsley-based company in search of a Production Operator (Lab). Our client is a globally operating company, serving diverse industries such as power generation, oil & gas, construction, machine building, medical, and transportation. They play a crucial role in the manufacturing supply chain.
Responsibilities:
We are looking to recruit a Production Operator Finishing (Lab) who will join our existing team to efficiently operate a range of manual finishing machines including surface grinding, lapping, autoclave and bench dressing of thermally sprayed components
Main Responsibilities:
· Production operation of surface grinder, flat lapping machine, autoclave and finishing bench processing customer manufactured parts that have been thermally coated
· Responsible for quality of work and level of production
· Ensure that components are processed according to the quality standards / process documents for each application
· Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure preceding operations have been carried out correctly and to verify that your own work has met the required standards
· To gain a thorough understanding, through training provided and experience, of the factors that affect coating quality and be able to use that knowledge to ensure components are processed to approved methods
· Good housekeeping of own work area and contribute to the 5S improvements of the working environment
· Become familiar with the “check-work-check” process and be committed to a “right first time” approach to all tasks carried out
· To fully participate in both providing and receiving training to meet business needs
· To uphold your statutory duty of care for your own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions
· To enable the company to meet its own legal duties and to report any hazardous situations or defective equipment
· Wear personal protective equipment provided by the company
Qualifications, experience and skills:
· The ideal candidate will have an engineering/manufacturing background and the ability to read engineering drawings and measurement techniques, however training will be provided for the specific tasks required for this role and anyone who can evidence an aptitude for this type of role and is keen to develop new skills will be considered.
· Experienced in any of the following skills will be a benefit, surface grinding, lapping, bench filing, dressing & polishing
· Sound numerical and literacy skills
· Experience of working in a team
· Ability to work accurately with a concern for quality
· A good communicator
· The ability to be flexible and use initiative
· Customer focused

Shift pattern:
Regular shift pattern after the training rotating weekly
Early: 6:00 to 14:00 Monday to Thursday and 6:00 to 13:00 Friday
Late: 13:45 to 22:00 Monday to Thursday and 12:45 to 18:45 Friday
(A paid break of 30 minutes per shift is included in these working hours);
And
During the training day shift: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with half an hour unpaid lunch Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
