Position Title: Production Operator – Electrical installer/commissioner
Location: Paneltex, Hull Somerden Road
Hours of work: 40 hours per week - Mon-Thur 0800-1700 / Fri 0800-2.30
Salary: £11.50 per hour
Other Benefits: Equivalent of 32 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), Contributory pension scheme & Life Assurance cover.
Job Overview
To install various electrical components into vehicle cabs and box bodies. including reversing, CCTV, data logging and tracking systems. This will also include integration of the vehicle body components to the cabs wiring system, which will comprise of lights, central locking etc. This will also include testing and commissioning finished vehicles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Installing various electrical systems to vehicles including tacking systems, camera systems, various lighting options etc.
- Fault finding.
- Various forms of electrical connections.
- Running cables and securing with the correct method which will involve removing and replacing various parts of the dashboard and carpets.
- Connecting vehicle lights and securing as needed and ensuring it is done to the appropriate standard.
- Reading and interpreting design drawings.
- Testing and commissioning vehicles
- Using a variety of handheld power tools
- Refitting parts to required QA standards
- Maintain legible and accurate paperwork in line with QA standards
- Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Have an understanding of electrics and electrical diagrams
- Knowledge of vehicle electrics and systems
- Use a multimeter
- Cab disassembly knowledge
- Good Health and Safety knowledge.
- Practical with a high attention to detail.
- Problem solving skills.
- Good team player and excellent communicator.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Punctual and reliable
